File Extension Ts

The .ts file extension is used and created by three different programs. As such, it does tend to pop up from time to time. The most common problem with a .ts file is determining what sort of program is intended to open the file, since there are three options and they are not compatible. In fact, they are totally different. The three uses of the .ts extension is to create a Qt translation file, a streaming .mpeg file, or a Tune Smithy file.

The Qt Translation version of the .ts file appears when Qt is in use. Qt (pronounced "cute") is a piece of cross-platform software intended to help with graphical user interfaces, which is the foundation of most modern operating systems. A graphical user interface is one which uses icons to represent programs and files, such as Windows and Apple OS use. Qt is also often used in non-graphical databases because of it's flexibility. Because Qt is widely used, and because it eliminates the need for a lot of coding, it is very popular.

I really do love FileCure because it's so easy to use - you don't have to be some kind of computer guru to get just what you need!

Plug and play? Not even close. I spent a lot of time trying to get my new, so-called 'plug and play' scanner to work. I was about ready to take it back. ParetoLogic FileCure got it working and saved me a needless trip (and gas!!) back to the store.

Sylvia D. Franklin Park, San Francisco

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my printer wouldn't work, a friend of mine suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure a try. I figured it was worth a shot because I was going to have to pay for a geek anyway. I was so happy when it worked... and worked properly!

I figured the graphics card my grandson gave me was broken when I couldn't get it work on my computer. It turns out that I just didn't have the right driver. ParetoLogic FileCure got it workin.

Hello FileCure folks:

I can't thank you enough for this great product. I just bought a new Vista machine and had been having all kinds of problems. First it was my screen and once I got that fixed it was the printer . Finally, my son suggested I try your product. It worked great and continues to keep my computer working. Thanks you.

Reggie E., N. Dakota

I hate paying a lot of money for anything. That's why I buy mostly used computer equipment. Last week I thought I got taken when I bought a scanner. It just would not work. ParetoLogic Driver Cure got it working. With the updates, it makes sure my stuff will keep working and that I don't have to pay more money.

I work at a school so my mom thinks I am some kind of computer whiz. I have wasted so much time trying to get her stuff to work. Our IT guy suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure. It has been a godsend and has saved me a lot of wasted hours. My mom and I can't thank you enough.

Carol S., Saskatchewan

My wife bought me a new Vista system, and ever since I have had problems with some of my hardware. I saw FileCure, and decided to give it a shot. Ever since, the Vista and my hardware have been working great. Thanks!

Nick Shultz, Canberra, Australia

I upgraded my system to Vista, and my printer started to act funny. No error messages, but it just wasn't working quite right. I read that drivers could sometimes be the problem. I looked online and saw FileCure. After downloading FileCure, my printer works great. You guys rock!

The .ts file appears when it jumps operating systems, to ensure that it's code runs smoothly regardless of what machine it is running on. Because so many programmers use Qt, many users will find that they have .ts files in the folders of many of their more popular applications. In general, this does not cause a problem, because they are only accessed automatically when the program is run. Even if .ts is mapped to be opened by another piece of software, Qt will open the appropriate file when the time comes.

More Info Regarding File Extension Ts

The most common use of the .ts file is as a Transport Stream file for streaming video. Many people have watched streaming video, especially on YouTube, however that primarily uses Macromedia Flash to show the video. However, many video sources still use the older-fashioned .MPEG video stream, because it allows for larger, higher quality videos to be displayed, at the cost of bandwidth. In general, these files are opened by Windows Media Player directly in one's browser, especially if the browser is Internet Explorer or Firefox. Because these .ts files are temporary, they generally are opened automatically and deleted when the streaming is over. This doesn't always happen, though, and so users who have mysterious .ts file problems can generally eliminate them by deleting their browser cache along with other temporary files. This should dispose of old, unneeded .ts files from already watched streams, as well as free up hard drive space.

The last use of the .ts extension is for Tune Smithy files. Tune Smithy is a piece of shareware created by the English programmer Robert Inventor. It is a highly developed synthesizer which works on actual sounds and wavelengths as opposed to instruments. Tune Smithy is based around fractals and fractal patterns, and thus the resulting music has an amazingly high degree of complexity even though it is emitted in a strict digital format. In general, Tune Smithy users export their finished product as a MIDI file, however, in-progress works are always saved as .ts.

As previously mentioned, the most common problem with .ts files is when the wrong program tries to access them. Luckily, most users can figure out what sort of .ts file they have and what they are to do with it by reading the file name and recalling their history of computer use. Obviously, a person who has never used Tune Smithy and who encounters a .ts file can be sure that it is not a Tune Smithy file, and if the .ts file is located deep inside another program's files, then it is probably essential for Qt function. The problem comes when a .ts file is to be deleted. Tune Smithy and Transport Stream files may be disposed of without consequence (indeed, Transport Stream files are supposed to be discarded) but those related to Qt software are essential for proper computer function. As such, if a user doesn't know what a .ts file is and isn't having trouble with it, they should leave it where it is. If they have registry problems with it, a registry fixer should be run in order to solve the problem automatically.
